I have been thinking about leading a run up into the Sawtooth Forest on Saturday August 12th, here is a link to the destination, https://www.google.com/maps/place/43°47%2750.9%22N+114°59'17.4%22W/@43.7974769,-114.9903627,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d43.797473!4d-114.988174

It will be about two and a half to three hours drive from Fairfield, until NF79 crosses the south fork of the Boise river at 43.726838, -114.900664 (Google maps link https://www.google.com/maps/place/43°43'37.2%22N+114°54'02.3%22W/@43.726991,-114.9028307,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d43.726991!4d-114.900642 ) it is maintained gravel road that I would not hesitate taking any car over.  At that point, there is a campground right next to the river, once you pass the entrance to the campground the trail not maintained and stock (4X4 Truck or Jeep) or better, I would not take anything you would feel bad about getting a scratch on past there.

The meeting place would be the Camas Creek Country Store 113 US-20, Fairfield, ID 83327, time to depart there would be around 9:30 for a picnic lunch at the destination.  This is about an hour and a half from the Federal Way Albersons that we meet at for the highway clean up.

Please let me know if you are interested

I am Everett Johnson and I am applying to be a member.  This sounds like an interesting trip.  When would you need final notice of an intent to go?  My calendar changes frequently as I am a corporate trainer sometimes working weekends.

    Thank you.

Everett, I would like to know if anyone is going the Thursday before so I know to go to town, I am working 2 miles south of the campground mentioned.

Looks like there will be a few on the run, just a couple of things. I will be driving a blue TJ, and be sure to bring a lunch as there is not anywhere to stop after leaving Fairfield.

I am not certain what direction you are going in but you will not make it if you go via Featherville on the 227 (Big Smoky Rd). The road is washed out before you get to Big Smoky Campground. I was riding on my dual sport about a month ago and ran into the closure. The rangers said it was unlikely to get fixed this year.

    Beautiful area, good luck.
