Meeting Place: Arco, Idaho Time: TBD Distance: 227 Miles from Boise to the Campground Agenda:
Thursday: Early group takes community items to the campground and prepares common area, then kicks back with a cold beverage
Friday: Meet at Craters of the Moon Visitors Center (104 mile round trip + 7 mile loop in park – 4 hours)
Sunday: Mackay Mines (60 mile round trip – 4-6 hours) (some could head home following trail ride)
Monday: Pack camp and head back to Boise
Limitations: The campground is limited to 15 vehicles (and 100 people?!?). However, there appear to be several other camp-type areas along the road near the campground.
Let’s Do This
p.s. I am not intending this to replace any Club Labor Day Camp Trip, plus, the site is already booked for Labor Day.
p.p.s. I’m not proposing this as a fund raiser. The area is new to us, and we will need to explore. I expect each party that attends will contribute to the community events. We may do something pot luck-ish with common cooking areas. Still to be explored. It could just end up being a plain ole camp out.
