Membership Info

Please let us know if you would like to become a member of Idaho Off-Road 4x4 Club. We can provide you with membership details and answer any questions you may have. We have included some membership information below for you to review as well as a membership application you can download. You can submit an online application as well. If you have additional questions feel free to send us an email and one of our representatives will get back to you.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Membership Requirements (Potential Members)
    (To start the enrollment process, a membership application must be filled out and submitted to the vice president.)

    1. Potential members must meet the following before acceptance as a regular member:
      1. Vehicle owner of a short wheel-based four-wheel drive vehicle. A four wheel drive vehicle is considered to be a 4×4 vehicle with a wheelbase less than 120″ and a 2 speed transfer case. While the club is not a “Jeep” specific club we are geared towards this size of vehicle and its capabilities. Any brand is acceptable and while modifications allow one to participate in more difficult runs, stock vehicles are perfectly acceptable. Exceptions can be made by membership consensus.
        • Potential members who are in the process of building a vehicle for the intended purposes of using said vehicle for club runs and do not have another vehicle that meets the requirements stated above will be granted 4 months to complete said vehicle before membership is revoked. Exceptions can be made by membership consensus.
      2. Properly filled out application form.
      3. Active engagement in club functions for at least 6 months from the date of application submission, to include at least:
        • Attendance of 2 business meetings
        • Participation in 2 monthly trail runs or club sponsored events; however, you must drive your rig in one of the monthly trail runs.
      4. Potential member is 18 years or older or has written parent or guardian consent.
      5. Potential member must have their vehicle pass a safety inspection per vehicle safety inspection requirements.
  2. Membership Requirements (Regular Members)
    1. Vehicle owner of a short wheel-based four-wheel drive vehicle. A four wheel drive vehicle is considered to be a 4×4 vehicle with a wheelbase less than 120″ and a 2 speed transfer case. While the club is not a “Jeep” specific club we are geared towards this size of vehicle and its capabilities. Any brand is acceptable and while modifications allow one to participate in more difficult runs, stock vehicles are perfectly acceptable. Exceptions can be made by membership consensus.
  3. Technical Inspection
    1. Technical Inspector Appointment – The President will appoint a Technical Inspector/ Safety Officer. This person will oversee inspections to ensure that all vehicles are in well maintained order and that each vehicle conforms to the minimum safety requirements. The Technical Inspector/Safety Officer may assign other Members to assist in inspections of vehicles. Every trail boss on a club sanctioned run is automatically authorized by the President and Technical Inspector/Safety Officer to inspect any vehicles participating in the run.
    2. Minimum Requirements – All member vehicles participating in any Idaho Off-Road 4×4 Club event must meet the minimum requirements set forth herein. Some events will require more than the minimum requirements. Refer to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for additional safety requirements.
      1. Seat Belt or Harness for Driver and each Passenger
      2. Roll Bar (show or light bars do not qualify) or Metal Hard Top
      3. Secure Front and Rear Attachment Points
      4. Fire Extinguisher
      5. Rigid Battery Hold Down
      6. Tow Strap with no metal hooks

MEMBERSHIP DUES

  1. Initiation Fees
    1. Initiation fees shall be $10.00 per immediate family.
    2. The payment of this sum will be requisite to membership initiation or reinstatement.
  2. Annual Dues
    1. These fees will be due at or before the January Business meeting.Failure to pay the dues prior to the Friday following the February meeting of any year will result in the discontinuance of that membership. The former member has until the March meeting to pay the past due Dues and the reinstatement fee to be reinstated.  After the March meeting, the former members eligible for reinstatement must be approved following the same rules governing the Election of Potential Members to Regular Membership (Article II, Section B, Paragraph 2). Reinstated memberships are not eligible for pro-ration.
    2. The Dues will be in the amounts as follows:
      1. Registered owner, spouse and immediate family – $30.00
      2. Honorary Member – no charge
    3. Annual Dues shall be used for normal and good business practices such as:
      1. Staging Club events
      2. Publicity for club events and to support the sport of off-roading
      3. Normal functions related to the proper operation of the Club

Meetings

We meet at 7 pm on the second Thursday of every month at Idaho Pizza in Meridian.
