SUMMARY:BBQ CANCELLED: 3 Club Run and BBQ in Bruneau
DESCRIPTION:The run is officially cancelled\n\n\n\nHowever\, if you wish to show up at the meeting place and run with others\, you are welcome to do so. The BBQ portion is cancelled as it would be impractical to meet the CDC guidelines for sanitation and social distancing. \n\n\n\nThere is no guarantee that trail leaders will be at the meeting point. \n\n\n\nA Full Day of Fun\n\n\n\nThe 3 Club Run and BBQ has become a Spring tradition among SW Idaho’s Clubs. The members of High Desert Off-Road\, Idaho Off-Road\, and Wild West Offroaders join forces to enjoy the hills around Bruneau\, Idaho. \n\n\n\nYou choose from one of four runs\, some of which are short enough to allow the group to do a different leg as well; those who do the Buggy Run often run the Rock Run afterword. \n\n\n\nFollowing the runs Idaho Off-Road hosts a pot luck style BBQ with burgers and dogs. We ask that you bring a side or dessert to share\, but it’s not necessary. Bring your camping gear and stay overnight. There will be hooting and hollering until the late hours. \n\n\n\nThe Scenic Run\n\n\n\nThe Homesteader Trail meanders through a beautiful stretch of the Bruneau desert to a creek. Along the creek\, you might find something exciting to photograph. Then\, you’ll visit an old homestead for more photos. This trail proves to be scenic and worry-free for those who might be intimidated by a rock or two. \n\n\n\nThe Trail Run\n\n\n\nHooker Canyon earned it’s name many years ago. The first time a person takes their stock jeep on this trail they will be “hooked.” Others refer to the small canyon as Lizard Gulch. No matter what you call it\, you’ll learn to navigate a waterfall\, avoid land mine looking rocks\, and get the chance to play in a big hole. Don’t let it scare you\, this really is an easy trail. \n\n\n\nThe Rock Run\n\n\n\nA Diff Hanger will stop you in your tracks. It will spill your drink and rattle your head. This trail is named for the numerous rocks sticking from the ground that will grab your differential and hold you tight. Stock tires will make this trail difficult\, as you’ll want a bit of extra clearance to get through this 1 mile trail. \n\n\n\nFollowing the hanger section\, there is a tight left turn and climb. The turn is almost always a 3-pointer for the longer rigs\, and sometimes more. You’ll enjoy a spotter to keep your tires out of the holes. No rock stacking here\, let the driver find a way through. \n\n\n\nThe trail ends with a big V-shaped crack. You’ll set your driver-side tires up on the rock and crawl right on through. When you’ve made it to the top\, you’ll regale yourself in your accomplishments and think “I’ll do the buggy run next time.” \n\n\n\nThe Buggy Run\n\n\n\n To run the Gauntlet is to take part in a form of corporal punishment in which the party judged guilty is forced to run between two rows of soldiers\, who strike out and attack him. * \n\n\n\nThe Boulder Dash is a buggy worthy trail that will guarantee a ding or two on your rig. If this sounds like fun to you\, maybe you should see a doctor. Ah body shop that is\, you’ll need it after this run. \n\n\n\nYet\, if you survive\, you’ll find yourself near the top of Diff Hanger and you’ll probably want to prove you have it all by going through backwards. We suggest you do. \n\n\n\nThe Recovery – AKA BBQ\n\n\n\nFollowing your day of playing in the desert or in the canyons\, you’re invited to relax with friends. Idaho Off-Road will provide burgers and dogs with the fixins. You’re welcome to join in\, just let us know you’re joining and if you’d like to bring a side. \n\n\n\nSeveral people will be camping at the site. Feel free to join the group\, the more the merrier. \n\n\n\nThe Details\n\n\n\nMeeting Location – On the morning of the Run\n\n\n\nJacksons Fuel Station – Google Maps585 W 6th S\, Mountain Home\, ID 83647 https://www.jacksons.com/locations

SUMMARY:Make Peace & Bonfire
DESCRIPTION:What Is This Event?\n\n\n\n\n\nOn this day in 1961\, President John F. Kennedy establishes the Peace Corps as a new agency within the Department of State. In honor of this\, we should go make peace with each other and make loud noises in the river. \n\n\n\n We’ll have a bonfire in the Mores Creek River downstream from the Robie Creek confluence. You’ll need to cross the river at least twice to get to bonfire. From there you can play on the slightly sloped hills or head further downstream for a bit of high speed mud racing. \n\n\n\n\n\nSeeing Triple\n\n\n\n\n\nCheck out this video from a few years ago..https://youtu.be/bfKkv5DrE_M \n\n\n\nWho Is Invited?\n\n\n\nTo get to the bonfire\, you must cross Mores Creek twice. The crossings are not deep\, usually under 12 inches if you use the bypass. If you add the crossing from the Robie Dock\, it could be as deep as 2 feet. With this information\, you’ll need to decide if you are willing to take the risk. All stock Wranglers should be able to accomplish this with no issue\, but again\, you own the risk. \n\n\n\nOtherwise\, everyone is invited. Bring dry clothes (if you think you might get wet)\, snacks\, water\, and a poking stick for hot dogs and marshmallows. We will provide the dogs\, buns\, mustard\, ketchup\, and marshmallows. Feel free to bring the rest. \n\n\n\nWhere Do We Meet?\n\n\n\nWe will meet up at the Robie Creek Dock. If the weather is warm\, there will be many people out playing in the dirt. \n\n\n\nChristian will meet the first group at the docks at 10am. We’ll head downstream\, build the fire\, and start playing. Christian will head back to the dock for an 11:30am meet. If you don’t want to wait for the 10am or 11:30am meets\, you can wheel on down to the bonfire location\, we’ll be sure you get out at the end. \n\n\n\nDirections from Albertsons to Robie Creek Park:— Exit Albertsons onto Highway 21 toward Idaho City (East)— Travel 16.6 Miles to Robie Creek Road – Turn Sharp Left — Travel 2.0 Miles to Robie Creek Park

SUMMARY:Park Creek Camp and Ride 2019
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Park Creek Campground for the 4th of July Weekend. \nThe campground is reserved for our use.  Come hang out with a bunch of like minded people.  We’ll explore the area\, do some fishing\, maybe some hot spring activity\, and certainly time at the campfire. \nThe area is new for our wheeling group\, so trail exploration will be in our future.  There are no known rock crawling spots\, so plan for trails. \nPlease reserve your spot by booking below.  Please be conservative\, if you have a truck and trailer\, you’ll fit in a 24 ft back in spot.   There is plenty of space to drop trailers and park Jeeps.  If you have 3 or 4 families that really want to be together\, book one of the 190 foot spots and you’ll all be comfy. \nScouts will go up in mid-June to photograph all of the campsites (because the forest services doesn’t do it).  Adjustments may be made at that time.
