SUMMARY:Winching 201 - Mini Mud Run
DESCRIPTION:Winching 201 combines learning about advanced winching techniques for vehicle recovery with an opportunity to play in the creek and mud in the bottom of Lucky Peak Reservoir. Hosted by IOR President\, Aaron.\nMeet at Albertson’s and travel together to Robie Creek. After airing down near the Robie Creek Boat Ramp the group will work their way down the reservoir bed\, crossing the creek multiple times. There may be impromptu winching/recovery demonstrations if vehicles get stuck on the creek crossings. At the end point Aaron will talk about\, and demonstrate\, advanced winching techniques. This is also the ‘lunch’ spot where we’ll get a fire going for roasting hot dogs and s’mores. SUMMARY:Exploratory Run near Hemingway Butte
DESCRIPTION:Aaron would like to do an exploration trail run out in the Owyhee’s.  For those on the Glow Worm during the past Rocket Run\, this will be a continuation of the trail that bested us in the rain.  I’m hopeful the off-camber slick mud will not be an issue. \n\n\n\nAaron plans to meet in the Hemingway Butte camp parking lot (Rocket Run base camp) Saturday morning 8:30am with an aired-down pullout at 0900.  He plans to stop at the highest point on the trail for brunch\, plan your meal and bring chairs for at least an hour or so before heading down the trail. \n\n\n\nAs an option\, if we have enough participants\, we may split at the trail junction and have another group take the right path down to the Kane Springs trail to swing around to our endpoint.  The left group will likely follow the backtrack path of the right group if time and trail conditions allow.  That way\, neither group will miss a section. \n\n\n\nDue to the unknown trail features\, I’m limiting this to a minimum 35” tires\, rear locker and recovery points or winch. \n\n\n\nLooking at the map\, it appears the trail will lead to the top of the mountain that I was trying to get to for the repeater location.  Only backwards  towards my intended route.

We will take the Middle Fork Road from Lucky Peak all the way to the town of Atlanta\, ID.  Drop some cash in the Fire Departments Boot and have lunch before heading home the same road. SUMMARY:Chuck Wagon Run - Riggins 2024
DESCRIPTION:Come out for an awesome weekend of wheeling outside of Riggins\, Idaho. Fall will be a beautiful time to enjoy these trails. This is a shared run with High Desert Off Road & 208 Overlanders. \n\n\n\nLEADER: Chase Coble is leading this and will have more details. \n\n\n\nTRAIL SPECS: This is a stock 4×4 scenic run and some trails are narrow and steep. Expect scratches. \n\n\n\nNo full-size vehicles on Carrey Creek or Kirkwood Museum\, but there may be other options for the full-size crowd – speak with Chase if you have questions. \n\n\n\nLODGING: Dry camping at Shorts Bar in Riggins. There are hotels and rentals available in Riggins where we will fuel up each afternoon when the day’s run is finished. \n\n\n\nSATURDAY NIGHT POTLUCK: We are holding a “Best Of” contest for the dishes brought to the potluck. Stock or better. \n\n\n\n     Easy – Lost Trail or Lower Gatekeeper. Stock or better \n\n\n\n     Mid – Carnage and Meatgrinder. 35s and one locker. \n\n\n\n     Hard – Upper Gatekeeper\, DLS\, Top Ripper. 37s and two lockers. \n\n\n\nThe decision has been made to not offer a BBQ this year; however\, please feel free to hang out and get to know other club members. \n\n\n\nIt will be a good time!

DESCRIPTION:Aaron Malin will be offering a basic winching class for those that are new to off-roading and would like to become more familiar with their winches. He will be teaching proper winching techniques\, the various winch parts and supplies\, and line tensioning. \n\n\n\nClass starts at 9:00 am on Saturday\, February 10th. Attendance will determine the class length. \n\n\n\nThis class will be combined with High Desert Off-road (HDOR). \n\n\n\nMeet in the open dirt lot on the south side of Hwy 21\, across from Boise Fire Station #12. This location is along the 2-mile section of ID-21 that IOR has adopted for clean-up.
