May 2020 Council Meeting Minutes

Call to Order/Roll Call:                At:  7:09pm  Via Virtual Meeting, due to COVID-19

In Attendance:  President: Justin Simms, Vice President:  Curt Blount, Secretary/Event Planner/Sunshine: Ginny Simms, Web Guru:  Micke Barnes, Education/Safety:  Dan Sullivan, Treasurer/Land Use:  Christian Dahlstrom, Board Member at Large/State Association/Rock Run Coordinator:  Nathan White, Event Planner:  Patti Evans, Trail Run Coordinator:  Glenn Morgan, Safety Officer:  Klint Breeding, Club Photographer:  Lisa Breeding.

3.       Education Presentation:  Dan=  NA, no club meeting for the Month of May, due to Covid 19.

4.        Land Use –   Christian= State Parks to open Saturday, May 30^th as part of the phase 3 reopening.

5.       State Association :  Nathan=  no updates at this time. 

6.       Web Master:  Micke= ran a couple of updates to keep the website running smoothly. 

7.       Sunshine: Ginny:  A card was sent to the Girdner Family, Charles and Jennie’s kids & sister were in an accident.  My Dad died unexpectedly and the Club elected a temporary Sunshine who paid me a visit.  I’d like to say thank you for the beautiful Flowers, kind gestures, cards and well wishes!  Lynette White’s brother, Craig Steen, was recently treated in Post Falls for Congestive Heart Failure and is currently recovering.  The club sent a card to her.  Dan & Marcy had to put their dog Riley down last week and the club purchased a flowering plant and delivered with card.

8.       Active & New Business:

·         Cancellations due to COVID-19:  May IOR Club Meeting will not be happening.

·         Owyhee County Land Concerns Continue.  Nathan White & Christian Dahlstrom both called in/signed in for virtual meeting regarding the overuse of Owyhee County resources, land and services.  A new campaign hoping to get more non members into considering joining a club to help protect, preserve and honor the use of Owyhee Mt Range for recreation.

·         When can we expect to Continue the Norm?  Hoping for a Club meeting in June.

·         Why be a part of a Club or an Organization?  To show your commitment to help preserve, protect and honor the tread lightly recommendations for recreation in Idaho.

 

9.       Previous Events: No Organized May 2020 Club Events, due to the COVID -19 Virus.

·         Dan & Marcy Sullivan were hosting a small group of people May 9^th for Snow Run at Warm Lake.
