October 2020- Council Meeting Minutes

Call to Order/Roll Call:   October 1^st, 2020 at 7pm  Virtual Meeting

In Attendance:  President: Justin Simms, Vice President:  Curt Blount, Secretary/Event Planner/Sunshine: Ginny Simms, Web Guru:  Micke Barnes, Safety Officer:  Klint Breeding, Education:  Dan Sullivan, Trail Run Coordinator:  Glenn Morgan, Event Planner:  Patti Evans, Club Photographer:  Lisa Breeding.  Visitors:  Marcy Sullivan.

1.       New member votes for this month : Curt

Current Member Count:  55

Applicants up for Vote :  James (Jim) Kokaly, Dan Bonney, Rose Martin, TJ Freeman (these individuals will be invited to next Club meeting for a Vote)

Micke Barnes suggested to have a vote for new members at our Fall Highway Cleanup.  He feels more people will end up at the event vs Club Meeting, social distancing would be easier.  Council agreed, if our Applicants attend and there is a quorum of Club Members, there should be a vote prior to the Fall Highway Cleanup Event.

2.       Current Financial Status:  Christian  not in attendance  (September’s #s)

                     General Fund: $9,974.82

                     Joe Aldape La.nd Use Fund: $1200.00

                     Raffle Fund: $ 4,108.93

     Grand Total: $15,223.75

3.       Education Presentation:  Dan=  First Aid Kits and What to have in them.

4.        Land Use –   Christian= Not in attendance.

5.       State Association :  Nathan=  not in attendance

6.       Web Master:  Micke= there has been an 80% drop in activity with our Website.

7.       Sunshine: Ginny:  Sent Rodney McPhersona book to read, while he’s undergoing some medical treatment.  Ray Turner just had his 3^rd foot surgery after having broken it December 2019.

October Birthdays:  Crystal Coble (7^th), Larry Marks (8^th), Manny Turner (10^th), Sherry Coble (16^th), Dianna Magstadt (17^th). 

8.       Active & New Business:

·             We were unable to have a quorum at the August Club Meeting for an New Member vote.  It was proposed to begin proxy votes via phone in during these limited attended meetings.  The Council decided that was not necessarily needed at this time.

·                     Emails and voice mails have been left for the Riverside Hotel Banquet Department to gain information regarding the Club Christmas Party.  It is known that the Department was taken from 5 employees to 1 employee overseeing all of the events.  After much thought and consideration, President Justin Simms proposed Cancellation of the Club Event.  We would be more then 50 people gathered, which would not be allowed and risk Club Member’s health.  Friday, October 2^nd Banquet Department was contacted and they asked that we reconsider our event and cancel.  It was proposed that we have a Club Member’s Only Christmas Tree Run so that a smaller group could gather. 

·                     Should the Club move forward with gathering the Toy’s 4 Tots funds from our Raffle earnings from the year.  We will bring this matter up at the next Club Meeting next week.  This would be 10% Donation from the total Raffle earnings.

·                     Fall Highway Cleanup will be October 3^rd, meet up at 11am Albertson’s on Federal Way & Hwy 21.  Bring some gloves, maybe trash grabber, good footwear, layered clothing (brightly colored) and a treasure hunting attitude!  Christian’s Annual Oktoberfest will follow.  A possible vote may occur if a quorum of 14 members attend.

·                     October Club Meeting will be held at Michael & Holly Shroll’s home, October 8^th at 7pm.  Emails sent to all members and Applicants up for a vote with all the details.

·                        IOR 2020 Club Labor Day Campout.  37 Attendees, 14 dogs, 2 cats and 19 vehicles.
