January 2021- Council Meeting Minutes

Call to Order/Roll Call:   January 7^th, 2021 at 7:01pm  Zoom Virtual Meeting

In Attendance:  President: Justin Simms, Secretary/Event Planner/Sunshine: Ginny Simms, Web Guru:  Micke Barnes, State Association/Rock Run Coordinator/Board Member at Large:  Nathan White, Safety Officer:  Klint Breeding, Education:  Dan Sullivan, Trail Run Coordinator:  Glenn Morgan, Event Planner:  Patti Evans, Club Photographer:  Lisa Breeding, Visitors:  Marcy Sullivan.

2.       Current Financial Status:  Christian (as of last month, plus $25 donation from Mark & Susie Smith to the Raffle Fund)

3.       Education Presentation:  Dan= 

Klint Breeding & Glenn Morgan have coordinated some guest speakers for next weeks Club meeting.  Clayton Albright, Law Enforcement Officer and current Acting Patrol Captain, with the Forest Service & Scott Turner, Boise County Sheriff.  They will be speaking to the Club at the January 14^th, 2021 via Zoom.

4.        Land Use –   Christian= Not in attendance.  Push to Educate people on Snowmobile groomed trails not being used by full sized vehicles in the winter months.  Guest speakers will be answering questions about this topic.

6.       Web Master:  Micke= has decided to donate the Zoom addresses to IOR to help continue our online Zoom meetings for Council and Club.  The Value of his donations $293.30.  He asks for a receipt for his taxes in return for his donation. 

7.       Sunshine: Ginny:  For the month of December 2020, IOR sent a book to Glenn Morgan to read during his recovery.  IOR also reached out to a couple of members via card to help lift spirits during difficult times for their families.

8.       Active & New Business:

·               It’s that time of year when we need to begin thinking of who you’d like to nominate for the 2021 IOR Council.  Justin & Ginny will be stepping down from all of their positions. 

Nominations for:  President  Patti Evans, Vice President  Klint Breeding, Treasurer  Christian Dahlstrom, Secretary  (nobody as of yet).  Group spoke about possible individuals that would be good nominations for Secretary position, Amy Shearn?, Brenda Robinson?, Les Bonney?.

·               Rocket Run Planning Committee will begin meeting in January 21, 2021 at 7pm via Zoom.

·               Klint Breeding & Glenn Morgan have contacted Boise County Sherriff’s Dept and Forest Service to coordinate a relationship between our Club and their offices.  With this connection we can keep each other in the “know” of what is legal/open/not legal/closed and any recreation topics to educate our members and visitors.  We’ve decided to make our guest speakers our education topic this month.  Scott Turner & Clayton Albright.

·               Club Membership Dues being accepted now until March 11th, after there will be a $10 late fee applied.  Club Member Dues are $30, New Member’s Dues $40 ($10 goes to the State Association).  Christian has been asked to send out emails to individuals who haven’t paid and thank you emails to those who have.

·               Succor Creek-Owyhee Reservoir Run, January 2^nd, 2021.  (7 vehicles)
